Meet The Hughes Chiropractic Team Meridian Valley Chiropractic is a family owned operation servicing the Kent/Covington/Auburn/Renton area for eighteen years. Their goal is to improve the lifestyles of members of the community through Chiropractic correction and wellness care. Dr. Rita Hughes A native of Seattle, Dr. Rita Hughes has been involved in Chiropractic since 1978. She graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 1986 and worked for a number of chiropractic offices as an independent consultant before going into private practice in 1992. Dr. Rita is a member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association, and has served on the Department of Labor and Industries Chiropractic Advisory Committee. She was appointed by Gov. Gregoire to serve on the Washington State Department of Health Chiropractic Board, and has also been selected as an examiner for the NBCE Part 4 National Chiropractic Board examinations. She practices Thompson, Diversified, Activator, Flexion-Distraction, and extremity adjusting techniques. She also specializes in family care, including the care of infants and children and care during pregnancy. Dr. Michael Hughes Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Dr. Mike Hughes also graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 1986 and worked as an independent consultant before going into private practice with Dr. Rita Hughes in 1992. He has done extensive post-graduate work in Sacro-Occipital technique, craniopathy, CMRT/visceral dysfunction (organs), functional neurology, Applied Kinesiology, and TMJ disorders, as well as Thompson and Activator techniques. He also does nutritional consulting.
